Automatic External Defibrillator Garment Pre-Certification Requests

On May 24, 2024, MO HealthNet issued a bulletin announcing coverage of automatic external defibrillator garments through the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) pre-certification process for all eligible participants.

The criteria established in the DME Pre-Certification Criteria Document published on MO HealthNet’s website must be met in order to be approved.

Pre-certification of DME is a two-step process:

  1.  The MO HealthNet enrolled physician who prescribed the item must initiate the request for pre-certification.
  2.   The enrolled DME provider dispensing the item must access the pre-certification initiated by the physician.

Pre-certifications can be obtained by calling (800) 392-8030, option 2, or using the CyberAccessSM portal, a web tool that automates this process for MO HealthNet providers. To become a CyberAccessSM user, contact the help desk at (888) 581-9797 or (573) 632-9797 or email cyberaccesshelpdesk@conduent.com.
