Department of Mental Health and Brain Injury Waiver Providers: Be Prepared for Electronic Visit Verification Hard Launch

The third phase of the hard launch impacting claims for services requiring Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) provided by the Department of Mental Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the Brain Injury Waiver personal care services (Provider type 85) is tentatively scheduled for October 1, 2026.

1915(c) Home and Community-Based Waivers (HCBS) Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) Waivers 

1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers are designed to provide a home and community-based option for participants with unmet needs who would otherwise require placement in either a nursing home or intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ICF-IID).

Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Benefit Table

The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is administered by MO HealthNet and Medicare to provide comprehensive health care, social, recreational, and wellness services to its participants. One of the main goals of PACE is to allow older adults to live safely in their homes instead of nursing facilities. As of May 3, 2024, PACE organizations are active in St. Louis and Kansas City, with a new PACE organization coming to the Springfield area later this year.
