Depending on your age, health, and individual needs, you may be eligible for a certain type of MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid) Coverage.
- Expansion Adults
You must be age 19-64 and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Make less than the annual income limit for your household size
- Not be eligible for or get disability benefits, MO HealthNet for Families, MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women, or Non-Spend Down MO HealthNet for the Aged Blind & Disabled
- Have healthcare coverage or have applied for healthcare coverage (private insurance or MO HealthNet)for any children in the home
- Families
You must be a parent or caretaker of a child under the age of 19 and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States Citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Make less than the annual income limit for your household size
Cooperate with Child Support for medical support
NOTE: The child will also be covered.
- Seniors
- You must be 65 or older and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States Citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Make less than the annual income limit (85% of the federal poverty level) for your household size (NOTE: You may still be eligible if your monthly income is too high but your medical costs drops your income within the limit)
- Not own resources (including cash and securities) over the resource limit for your household size (this does not include your home, one vehicle, household goods, or certain other property)
- Not be a resident of a public, private, or endowed institution (unless it’s a public medical institution)
- Children & Youth
The child must 18 or under and:
- Live in Missouri
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Be a United States citizen or qualified non-citizen
- Live in a household that makes less than the annual income limit for your household size
- People with Disabilities
You must:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Be permanently and totally disabled, meaning you are unable to be gainfully and substantially employed for one or more years due to physical or mental incapacity
- Have applied for other benefits (ex. social security)
- Make less than the annual income limit for your household size (NOTE: You may still be eligible if your monthly income is too high but your medical costs drops your income within the limit)
- Not own resources (including cash and securities) over the resource limit for your household size (NOTE: This does not include your home, one vehicle, household goods, or certain other property)
- Not be a resident of a public institution (unless it’s a public medical institution)
- MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women
- You must be a pregnant woman and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States Citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Make less than the annual income limit for your household size
- Show Me Healthy Babies
You must be pregnant with an unborn child (you must apply before you deliver your child) and:
- Live in Missouri
- Make less than the annual income limit for your household size (NOTE: Ineligible aliens income guidelines are from 0% up to 300% of the federal poverty level)
- Not have medical insurance or not have insurance that covers full maternity benefits (prenatal, laborand delivery, and postpartum)
- Not have access to employer-sponsored insurance or affordable private insurance that includes maternity benefits
- Not be eligible for help through any other MO HealthNet program
- Women Without Health Coverage
You must be a woman between the ages of 18 and 55 and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Not have medical insurance or access to employer-sponsored insurance that includes family planning
- Need help with family planning services
- Make less than 201% of the federal poverty level for your household size
- Not be eligible for help through any other MO HealthNet program
- Blind & Visually Impaired
You must be 18 or older and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States Citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Be legally blind (vision less than 5/200)
- Not have a sighted spouse who can provide support
- Make less than the annual income limit for your household size (NOTE: You may still be eligible if your monthly income is too high but your medical costs drops your income within the limit)
- Not own resources (including cash and securities) over the resource limit for your household size (this does not include your home, clothes, furniture, household equipment, jewelry, or any other property used to earn a living)
- Not publicly ask for donations
- Not be a resident of a public institution (unless it’s a public medical institution)
- Women with Breast & Cervical Cancer
You must be a woman under the age of 65 and:
- Live in Missouri and be a United States Citizen (or qualified non-citizen)
- Have (or apply for) a Social Security Number
- Have a need for treatment for breast or cervical cancer (must have a DHSS Show Me Healthy Women screening and diagnosis)
- Not have medical insurance or not have insurance that covers breast or cervical cancer treatment
